Mountain Valley pipeline defends against safety accusations

“Caram of the Pipeline Safety Trust disagreed, saying the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration required the builder of the now-canceled Keystone XL pipeline to replace coating in a factory-controlled setting after some coating was found to be damaged.
Caram said the company’s response letter on safety simply referenced ‘vague regulations that leave much up to operator discretion and descriptions of voluntary measures with no real accountability to the public.'”
