Maps: Pipeline Mapping System

The Pipeline Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) maintains the National Pipeline Mapping System, which provides broad-level maps on a county-wide basis in all states, depicting both Hazardous Liquid (crude oil and refined products) and Gas pipelines. Many pipeline operators also provide maps of their own lines through their websites. Other organizations and news outlets provide maps at times, either on a local, regional, or national scale. The Pipeline Safety Trust advocates for better public access to maps, and access to more associated information about the pipelines depicted. PHMSA omits detail and reduces accuracy, ostensibly for security reasons, though for those with the means to purchase data, very accurate and detailed maps are available from sources such as this example. Below are links to some of the publicly available pipeline online maps.
