We work to keep people and the environment safe from pipeline hazards
Next, @BillCaram from @pstrust differentiates between "public awareness", where the public is made aware of pipeline plans, and "public engagement", based on mutual dialogue between pipeline companies & the public.
We don't have it: "Our system of public engagement is broken."
When asked for thoughts on the current state of dispersion modeling, @BillCaram of @pstrust says that "it's a complex process, and ultimately the onus is on regulators and pipeline companies to convince the public that they're correct and it's safe".

ICYMI: (between impeachment, sine die and BBQing)
Operator errors caused one of the biggest oil spills in Texas since 2011. EnLink Midstream says they're completing cleanup, but will regulators issue any fines or penalties?
@insideclimate
“All too often pipeline operators seem to get complacent in their operations and continue to hit the snooze button on leak detection alarm, all the while dumping hazardous product into the local ecosystem, breaking the public’s trust,” said Bill Caram, ED at @pstrust.
