Media Coverage of 2016 Pipeline Safety Trust Conference

As the Trust’s annual conference continues to grow, we receive an increasing number of requests for members of the media to attend the conference for newsgathering purposes, leading us to develop this protocol for press attendance. The conference is a major undertaking for our organization, and we incur certain fixed costs for everyone in attendance.   We would love to be able to invite members of the press to attend the conference without cost, but we are a small non-‐profit organization with limited staff resources during the conference to devote to distinguishing between registered attendees and members of the media. Given our fixed costs for the conference venue and catering, we ask that members of the media who wish to attend the conference register at the rate we extend to interested members of the public. Our registration information can be found here: Registration Form. Registered attendees enjoy a buffet lunch, a breakfast, and an evening reception during the conference.

We also ask that members of the press attending the conference abide by these

constraints:

  1. No flash photography in the conference sessions, breaks or meals.
  2. All interviews with attendees should be held outside the conference sessions.
  3. No video recording during the sessions: the sessions are webcast and recordings will
be made available on our website as soon as possible after completion.
  4. Any photographs during the sessions must be taken in a manner that does not disrupt
    the proceedings of the conference.
